Developer API Terms

These terms govern your use of the ClipSave Developer API (the “API”). They supplement the Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy, which apply in full.

1. Your keys are your responsibility

• Keep keys secret. Do not embed them in client-side code, public repos, or shared documents.
• Sharing, selling, or transferring keys is prohibited. Each key identifies one account.
• If a key leaks, revoke it immediately in your dashboard. We may revoke any key without notice when abuse is detected.

2. Prohibited conduct

• Evading rate limits, quotas, or access controls — including via multiple accounts, IP rotation, or automated key rotation to bypass limits.
• Using the API to scrape credentials, bypass login walls, DRM, or paywalls, or access content you have no right to access.
• Sending spam, malware, or unlawful content through any ClipSave surface.
• Reselling, sublicensing, or providing paid third-party access to the API without our written permission.
• Building services whose primary purpose is mass-downloading content you do not own or have permission to use.

3. Content responsibility

You are solely responsible for what you download and how you use it. Downloads are provided for personal, fair use only — no commercial redistribution, no re-uploading, no profiting from content you do not own. Respect copyright and each source platform's terms.

4. Fair use and availability

• Plan limits (requests per minute, daily quotas) are enforced automatically and may change as plans evolve.
• The API is offered as-is. We publish real status at /status; we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
• We may throttle, suspend, or revoke API access for violations of these terms.

5. Webhooks

• Webhook endpoints must use HTTPS and verify the X-ClipSave-Signature header before acting on payloads.
• Do not use webhooks received by your systems as an attack surface — treat every payload as untrusted input.

6. Changes and termination

We may update these terms with notice on this page. Continued API use after changes constitutes acceptance. You may stop using the API at any time; revoke your keys in the dashboard to terminate your API access.
